Nicki Collen, a 1993 graduate at Platteville High School, has been named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Collen is formerly Nicki Taggart and was a four-year all-conference point guard for Platteville High School. She received co-SWAL 1 Most Valuable Player honors when she played for the Hillmen. Collen played college basketball at Purdue, and later, Marquette. She was recently the head coach of the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream for three seasons, where she earned the 2017 WNBA Coach of the year award. Collen replaces KIm Mulkey, who left Baylor after 21 years to be the head womens basketball coach at LSU.
